Bitter result for the seniors vs. Shooters Marlins FC

Last Saturday, our senior was facing Shooters Marlins FC in its serie of difficult games vs. top SIFL teams. For this game, we had an interesting mix of youth and senior players and decided to play in 4-3-3. While Peter was missing, it was good having both Tim & Masa back in the team.

We started well the 1st half and the game was pleasant to watch. Main danger on Shooters Marlins FC ‘s side was Fafa but our defense was vigilent not giving him much space. Actually the SMFC got dangerous only a few times… Either on free-kick or slight miscommunication between our defense & keeper. On our side, we got 2 clear opportunities on one on one. First with Alban, then with Ryan who overspeed Shooters defenders. 0-0 at the half-time.

In the beginning of the 2nd half, we kept on doing the same and only made few adjustments with Simon coming in as striker. We got rewarded after 15 mn with a nice goal from Simon afer a nice combination with Alban. Unfortunalty, we conceded a own goal 10mn later with Romain trying to clear a cross into our box. We kind of lost our momentum after that conceeding goals every 5 mn like a swiss clock 🙁

Overall, it’s the same diagnostic since the beginning of the season. We compete fairly with our opponents until the 65/75 mn… Then, we explode. We’re still missing something either physically, mentally, or tactically… I guess it’s a bit of a mix and we’ll have to fix. The sooner the better.

Cheers
