Dulwich EQ

Friendly game vs. Dulwich EQ for the youth team

A great afternoon of weather made it perfect to play an 11 a side game. We were all happy that this time, we didn’t have to travel so far to play like the SFA games as we played at Dulwich EQ home pitch in Jinqiao.

Dulwich EQ came with 22 players and decided to play 2 different teams in each half. In the first half the game was scrappy at times and although we were the more dominant team we still didn’t play our best football. However we scored from a powerful run by Ryan and a hard shot at a tough angle was too much for their keeper to handle.

In the second half we changed the formation to our usual as we knew the that Dulwich EQ would play their strongest team. We played some great football switching sides and making many consecutive passes in a row, some moves that we had been working on looked great from the sidelines. We created several chances coming close with efforts from Henry and Ryan putting shots just wide of the goal.

Unfortunately Dulwich got a corner late on in the game and when a great cross came that looked to be going straight in the goal, Kevin tried to clear it but the ball ended up bouncing off him to make it 1-1. For the last few minutes we continued to dominate and create chances but we just ran out of time. A draw but it was clear to see we were the better team today.

We thanked Dulwich of course for helping arrange this game for us and it was great to see all our players have parts to play today. Well done to Nicholas and Aiden playing their debuts.

Enjoy your Sunday evenings!

Cheers
Pat, Freek, Chris & Nick
