Legends are back on winning

After our loss last week, it was important to get back on winning. For this game vs. Strosso FC, we had a solid squad of 15 players. Also, we were happy to have Bob back in the team after an ankle injury which kept him sidelined for almost 3years !

The pitch was a bit heavy after last week rains and there was a strong wind against us in the first half of the match.

We started well with a strong defense and our midfielders launching our 2 strikers Bob & Pierre. We got a couple of good scoring opportunities but lacked the precision. However after good build-up, we managed to send Mamdouh on a run who finished cool to give us the lead. Soon after, on a corner the ball dropped to the feet of David who tipped the ball-in from a close range.

Happy faces after the first 20 minutes. We all agreed to go for a clean sheet and keep playing the same way. But… after one minute in the 2nd quarter, Strosso scored on a fast counter with a good finish. We got a bit frustrated as we couldn’t convert our chances and stopped playing the ball around… Instead, opted for long balls which were very consuming for our strikers.

In the 3rd quarter, we brought a few fresh legs substitutes. We started to play well again moving the ball around and scored several goals after good combination plays. Bob got his name on the scoresheet and Pierre showed why he is a good “old” striker by scoring a hat-trick in less than 12mn. We also had a good laugh when our stand-in keeper Tiber layed on the ground with cramps. According to his own theory, it was caused by the amount of beer in his legs from the night before.

In the last 20 minutes and 6-1 winning, we made our last substitution. We kept trying to score more and our President made a perfect cross to Nicolas who didn’t hesitate to make the final score 7-1.
