Legends had a strong performance against Lao Pao
We had our first match after the Chinese New Year Holiday on Sunday ! We were up against Lao Pao an experienced local team and we knew the game would not be easy. The weather was not great and the pitch was not great but we had a group of 19 hungry Legends ready to perform.
We started well as birthday boy Haroun hit the cross bar and actual went over the line on the bounce but the referee couldn’t see it soon after Nikko went on a run to the keeper but couldn’t finish it. Lao pao decided to sit up and weather the storm but when Hira-san was set free on the right wing his perfect cross found Haroun and he didn’t hesitate to header the ball in the right top corner ! Great start for the Legends !
In the next 20 minutes Lao Pao seemed to have put a stronger team out but their intentions were intercepted when Nikko launched Vincent on the run and when he wanted to cross the ball in he saw the ball fly into the top corner instead ! We were happy to celebrate the goal !
With 2-0 down finally Lao Pao decided to attack and we had to stay alert in the back as the pitch was not easy to play on. We lost a bit of our composure and were looking for difficult balls when we overlooked the simple solution obvious we lost more possession because of that !
In the 3rd 20 minutes Bob told us if we could score a third goal it would be decisive for the end result but if Lao Pao would get a goal it would be hard for us to defend the lead ! We stepped up our game and helped by the support of our substitutes and supporters on the side line we managed to get our third goal after a scramble after a corner it was Haroun who scored his second of the day !
Now we were flying high and it was an act of brilliance of David who with a super pass put Samad one on one with the keeper and he finished cool leaving the keeper with no chance ! Samad wanted more and he scored his second soon after !
With 20 minutes to go we made sure all the players of our large squad could get a chance to play and we continued our strong play with Hiro-san very close to score with a header after a Nikko corner and Hira-san almost scoring at the near post !

After the final whistle we were happy with our clean sheet and the 5 goals and thanks to Fatima Haroun’s wife we got treated by legendary home made birthday cakes to celebrate our win !!
