Lions advance in Hebeiguchi Cup !
Lions,
We had a cup game all the way out in Tianma ! Cup games are tricky especially when you play against second division teams as we might lack motivated where as for the second division team it might be their game of a life time. For the occasion we had only 11 players + the president on the bus ! The opponent were the Anzacs a famous side from Scotland with some relatives of Jamie on their team. We started well and scored after 5 minutes however after that we adjusted to their pace and slowed down on the slow pitch. 3-1 half time and we decided to play better the second half. The president tried to score to become the oldesd scoring Lion at 50 years old but was denied by Mathieu who took the ball. As revenge the president took a goal scoring opportunity away fm Mathieu as well (who wanted to score on his 31st birthday) only to be denied by the cross bar ! It was good to see Benji back on the score sheet with two goals and Fabie kept the “defenders scoring” record alive by scoring a nice header. 6-1 it was and up to the semi finals ! Next Saturday we play old rival the Azzuri in the league and we expect everybody to come to the training on Wednesday !
