Lions End Both Leagues with Wins
The league season may be over—but it’s not yet time to relax. We still have two big challenges ahead:

Let’s look back at this winning weekend:
[SIFL] 🆚 Shanghai Krauts FC – 3:2 Victory
Date: Saturday, June 2
Result: Shanghai Lions FC 3–2 Shanghai Krauts FC
We made it harder than necessary. The game could’ve been smooth sailing, but as has happened often this season, we wasted too many chances.
At half-time, we were trailing 1–2, but to our credit, we fought back and turned it around to clinch a 3–2 win.

- Most likely finished 3rd
- Goals scored: 66
- Goals conceded: 26
While decent, our goal-scoring tally falls short compared to the Shooters (89) and Azzurri (85). We’re great at creating opportunities, but just as talented at wasting them. Half the goals we conceded this season were self-inflicted. There’s work to be done next season—especially up front.
[SPL] 🆚 Flamenkos – 6:0 Win
Date: Sunday, June 3
Result: Shanghai Lions FC 6–0 Flamenkos
A sunny celebratory Sunday—21 Lions showed up for the final game of the SPL season!
With 3rd place already secured, this match was about team spirit, fun, and future talent.

- W: 12 | D: 2 | L: 4
- Goals scored: 61 (Needs improvement)
- Goals conceded: 28 (Good)
📊 For perspective:
Last season, we were champions with 66 goals scored and only 25 conceded. This season, Hawks and Hard Days Night both outscored us (90 and 83 goals). Taking Mus’ injury vs Cowboys into account, we might well have finished 2nd.
⚽️ Goalscorers:
- Joel (16th goal of the season)
- Garret (his first of the season)
- Terao (his first goal in China)
- Martin (17 y/o future star – 2 goals)
👶 Also worth noting: we saw our youngest-ever debut, with Alex (14 years old) making his Lions debut!
🧓 And of course, the oldest Lion to ever score remains Freek (48 years old)—who’s waiting for someone to break his record!
