Lions lose fourth straight against Shooters
The Lions showed up with a strong squad to try and stop the Shooters unbeaten run in what is now the forth time these teams have met this season. The game started and moved quickly from end to end. In the 1st 15 mn, the Shooters were always looking the more dangerous however and Mcgirr broke the deadlock, nicely heading a cross from Wilson Scott into the far corner. A few more chances came and went on both side before the tight half ended 0-1.
The next goal was always going to be important and the Shooters got it soon after the restart. Wilson Scott showed some neat skill to go round Nico before putting it on a plate for Stefan Sturm to side foot home with virtually his first touch of the ball, having come on as a half time sub. Their lead was increased minutes later as Wilson Scott helped on a corner swung into the near post. Dim kicked the header attempting to clear it, but smashed it instead into his own defender Jack Boller. It rebounded off him straight into the goal for 0-3. The Lions kept fighting though and with 10 mins to go nearly got themselves back into it. First Simon Spangenberg volleyed in a flick on from a free kick before Azz converted a 20 yard free kick to make it 2-3. The Shooters held firm though and saw out the game to take all 3 points with Wilson Scott receiving MoM.
