Lions advance in the Hebiguchi Cup !
The weather was terrible with heavy rain and a hard norther wind ! The 09:00 o clock kick off time didn’t help either…….with our regular goalie Radouane missing we started with 9 players and the president himself in goal. Within three minutes the Oranje scored after a good cross in and a fine header. Well that was our wake up goal and by the time we had finally 11 players on the pitch we started to play or better said trying to play as the pitch was full of water……! It was a corner of Azzeddine which found Fabie at the back post and he equalized 1-1.
It was the half time score and in the second half Lyndon was kind enough to volunteer as goalie ! In the second half we played better and were just waiting for the goal to come Benji scored the 2-1 and Big John almost scored however the Dutch came back again to make the match more interesting to watch in the freezing cold weather. It was good old Rosie who did it again in the 86th minutes after a great combination as he scored the 3-2 ! In between Big john had hit the woodwork as he was flying up and down the left wing….. The icing on the cake came from a beautiful goal after Azzeddine far on the left picked out Felix at the far post and he blasted the ball in the net. It was a fun and good Cup game where the Lions with a thin squad showed character !
Next Saturday we have no match but the week after we will be ready for the Shooters !
