The Lions are soaring this season!

With a sixth consecutive win in the SIFL, the Shanghai Lions FC extended their unbeaten run in spectacular fashion, defeating the Shanghai Vikings 7-1 last Saturday. This marks our best-ever start to a league season—six wins out of six, 35 goals scored, and just six conceded!

From the kickoff, it was clear that the Vikings had one mission: defend in numbers. They stacked 10 players behind the ball, building a white wall to resist the relentless attacks of our black-clad Lions. It wasn’t easy, but our patience and pressure paid off—we broke the deadlock and finished the first half 2-0 up.

The second half saw a noticeable step-up in intensity and quality. We created space, increased our passing tempo, and carved open their defense with a variety of attacking plays. Goals kept coming, including a brilliant 7th in the final minute—proof that we never stop hunting. That final strike might just be decisive in the goal difference column come season’s end. Mark our words!

Benji continues his outstanding form with 7 goals already this season—impressive for a midfielder. Dani, meanwhile, is firing on all cylinders, scoring from every angle—including headers!

Next weekend, there’s no league match, but the crème de la crème of the Lions will be heading to Phuket to defend their 7-a-side title. We wish them all the best—bring the trophy home again!
