Shanghai Lions fire goals like a machine gun in February 2013 victories over Beavers and ERS FC.

Lions Score Like a Machine Gun in Weekend Double Win

The Shanghai Lions came into the weekend with focus, firepower, and no intention of slowing down — bagging 11 consecutive wins, scoring for fun, and tightening their grip on both league campaigns.

[ SIFL ] Beavers 0–8 Shanghai Lions

Facing the Beavers on Saturday, we knew it wasn’t just about winning — it was about building our goal difference. With DIB and the Shooters close behind, there was no room for complacency.

Even without Charles on the sideline (rumors swirled about a mysterious back injury…), the team stayed locked in. After a 3–0 first half, the Lions turned up the heat and added five more goals in the second.

Highlights:

  • Dani back on the score sheet (2 goals)
  • Azz claiming two goals at “30% capacity”
  • Jerome claiming an own goal as his own
  • Benji continues his scoring spree (goal #8 or 9?)
  • 🧤 Dimitri named MOTM — the Beavers had zero shots on goal

“63 goals scored, 13 conceded — +50 goal difference and counting.”

Next up: a big test against the Azzurri after the CNY break.

[ SPL ] ERS FC 0–3 Shanghai Lions

On Sunday, it was time to take on the “French Fries” — aka ERS — in the SPL. The mission was simple: prove once again that the Lions are top dogs in Shanghai.

From kickoff, the team looked sharp and aggressive. Our defense, now bolstered by Gwen and Jack, looked rock solid, while the attack made the most of quick counters and wind-assisted breaks.

Goals:

  • Garret on fire — opener + his 4th of the season
  • Ahmet with a clinical second
  • ⚽ Garret again to seal a well-earned 3–0 win

In the second half, the focus shifted to keeping a clean sheet, and the Lions delivered — despite Nico taking a boot to the face and later getting his shoulder bruised. We even saw Jeff and Michael up front as makeshift strikers. Jeff’s miss? He claimed it was “a world-class save.”

“Three clean sheets in a row. 61 goals scored. 16 conceded. Goal difference: +45. And we’re top of the SPL.

🦁 Summary

“An amazing weekend for the Lions — full commitment, full power, full spirit. Enjoy life. Enjoy being a Lion.”

Cheers
