Lions Kick Off Season with a Win On and Off the Pitch!

The 2012-2013 season couldn’t have started better for the Shanghai Lions, both on the field and at the bar! The weekend was packed with positive energy, team bonding, and a commanding victory in the SPL.

Sponsor Opening Night at BLOC On Friday night, the Lions held their first official Club night at BLOC, our new sponsor venue. The event was a big success thanks to Shahla and her welcoming team, who created a cozy atmosphere with free-flow drinks and a generous buffet. A quick PowerPoint presentation gave insight into the club’s structure for the season ahead. It was an evening of laughs, introductions, and plenty of team spirit—a reminder that the Lions are more than just a football team.

[ SPL ] Lions 9-0 Super 48

On Sunday, the Lions translated the off-field momentum into a dominant 9-0 win over Super 48 in their SPL opener.

Joel Z. was in unstoppable form, bagging 6 goals to lead the SPL scoring charts.
Young Lions were integrated into the squad, adding fresh legs and energy.
Despite a slow start, the team shifted gears after 20 minutes, taking full control of the match.
Strong defensive organization and fluid attacking play marked a well-rounded team effort.

This performance not only secures an early top spot in the standings but also sets the tone for what promises to be a strong campaign.
