Young Lions on the Right Track with 8–1 Win Over LFS U18 FC

The Shanghai Lions U18 team delivered a dominant performance against LFS U18 FC, winning 8–1 in a match that showcased the team’s growth, confidence, and club spirit.

Despite a few absences, the squad — backed by a “very young” 49-year-old in goal — was ready to face the French. The match was split into three 30-minute thirds, each testing a different aspect of the Lions’ development.

⚔️ Result: [ Youth Friendly ] Lions U18 8-1 LFS U18

🔥 Match Breakdown

🕒 First 30 mins:
We came out aggressive and punished the French defense early. Strong tackling, smart positioning, and a noticeable improvement in fitness and confidence (thanks to weekly training) led to a 3–1 lead.

🕒 Second 30 mins:
The focus shifted to ball control and passing. Though we struggled briefly under wind-assisted French pressure, we stayed organized and pushed the score to 5–1.

🕒 Final 30 mins:
With full control and rising confidence, we relaxed and played our style — adding three more goals to end the match 8–1.

💬 Coach’s Note

“We were very pleased with both the performance and the team spirit — which is always a key element to winning games.”

A special shoutout to those who stayed after to support the senior Lions’ 3–0 win over ERS, where Coach Garret netted twice. That’s what we call club culture in action.
