Shanghai Lions celebrate 3–0 SIFL Cup semi-final victory over Shooters on May 26, 2012

Lions Dominate Shooters in SIFL Cup Semi-Final

Life is good. Especially if you’re a Lion! Last Saturday, we faced our long-time rivals, the Shooters, in the SIFL Cup Semi-Final at Tianma — and delivered one of our most memorable performances.

🏆 [ SIFL Cup Semi-Final ] Shanghai Lions 3-0 Shooters

⚽ Fastest Goal in Club History

Right from kickoff, the Lions put on a masterclass. With six crisp passes and not a single Shooter touching the ball, Dani found the net in what was officially recorded in referee Kevin’s book as 30 seconds—but in reality, it was even faster. We’ll be sure to get a copy for the Lions’ history archives!

⚽ Total Team Performance

Soon after, Charles displayed great control, wrong-footing two defenders before setting up Fabi, who made a surprise run from right back to slot home the second.
Just before halftime, we netted the 3–0, and from there, the win was never in doubt. We defended solidly and kept a clean sheet—a true team effort!

Meanwhile, the Shooters fell apart, visibly frustrated and yelling at each other while we fought for every single ball together.

🏆 Cup Final Ahead

It will be a tough one—but we have a very, very good chance to bring home our first SIFL Cup trophy!

[ SPL ] Lions 2–1 ERS (aka French Inglourious Basterds)

On Sunday, under scorching heat, we played great passing football under Captain Garrett’s leadership.
A moment of Lions history: Gwen, from 40 meters out on the left wing, unleashed a thunderous strike with his right foot straight into the top corner.
Freek said at halftime: “You’ve just witnessed a historic moment… this won’t happen again!”

ERS fought back late to equalize, but we had one last card to play—Martin (17) made the run of his life and laid the ball off to Ian, who calmly slotted in the winner.
Post-match ERS comment:
“Putain! For 6 years we try to beat the Lions… and never succeed!!”
