Shanghai Premier League - SPL News-4-3

[ SPL News ] Six Rounds to Go for the SPL

Amigos and Amigas,

Life is good! Especially during spring in Shanghai, with great weather and green grass all around. The SPL is entering its final six rounds, and the league table is heating up!

  • At the bottom, we see a fierce relegation battle between Galacticos, Super 48, and the Pistolera Bulls.
  • In the mid-table, Japan, Shanghai 2000, Flamenkos, and ERS are all fighting for a top-5 finish.
  • At the top, it’s a thrilling title race between the Lions, Marlins, Gremio, and Cowboys—with each of these four contenders still needing to face each other! It doesn’t get more exciting than this.

🍻 SPL Team of the Week: Super 48

We are proud to announce the first Estrella Galicia “SPL Team of the Week” Award. The well-deserved winner is Super 48!

They’ve undergone a remarkable transformation this season—from “old and slow” to “young and fast.” Not sure how they pulled it off, but they’ve been a tough match for everyone lately. As a reward, they’ll receive boxes of Estrella Galicia beer this Sunday!

⚽ SPL Goal Record Broken

This season, we’ve already scored an all-time record of 550 goals in the SPL—and we’re not done yet!

🏟 Match Reports (Sunday, April 14)

Galacticos 3–6 Cowboys

Despite the F1 weekend and a hot Shanghai day, the Galacticos put up a brave fight, even scoring three times against a strong Cowboys side. Hats off for their spirit!

Super 48 1–6 Marlins

The newly energized Super 48 dared to push forward, but this played right into the hands of the Marlins, who boast the top scoring record in the SPL (94 goals!). Gui scored a hat-trick, and Jonny added a stunner to seal the win. Super 48 grabbed a consolation goal worthy of replay.

Pistolera Bulls 1–5 ERS

Under 28°C heat at Century Park, this was a battle of fitness. The first half ended 1–2 in favor of ERS, but fatigue hit the Bulls hard. Their two substitutes were too exhausted to return, and the French team capitalized to score three more.
Highlight: Bilgin received his 11th yellow card of the season—for hugging a French player! (Good thing it wasn’t for a French kiss…)
