Amigos and Amigas,
Summer arrived early in Shanghai this year — 32 degrees in the first week of May! But the heat didn’t stop the SPL from delivering high-quality entertainment, with a whopping 26 goals scored across the weekend.
We’re nearing the final stretch of the season, and the SPL title could be decided this coming Sunday if the Hawks win and Hard Days Night lose. Meanwhile, Lions, Flamenkos, ERS, and Pistolera Bulls are in a tight race for the sub-top spots. Japan sits comfortably mid-table, while Cowboys, Galacticos, and Super 48 are locked in a battle at the bottom.

⚽ Weekend Match Recap
Lions 3–0 Japan
This match featured the youngest Lions line-up ever, including four 16-year-olds. The Lions jumped to a 2–0 lead within the first 20 minutes. Japan fought back but were repeatedly denied by the young Lions goalkeeper. In the second half, Joel sealed the win with a well-taken penalty.
ERS 9–0 Super 48
ERS continued to show why they boast the best defense in the SPL. Quick early goals ended the contest early. Julien netted a double hat-trick (6 goals), and ERS cruised for the remainder of the game.
Flamenkos 2–7 Hawks
Without star strikers Joshue and Joost, and with only one substitute, the Flamenkos struggled in the heat. The game was even for 30 minutes, but once the Hawks scored, the floodgates opened.
📊 The Hawks now have 29 different players who’ve scored this season—an SPL record!
Galacticos 5–0 Cowboys
This was a crucial match for both teams fighting to avoid the bottom. With Ned’s return, the Galacticos played their best game of the season. Ned scored a hat-trick, and the team finally had a reason to celebrate.
